Our Vision and ministry come from our history believing that God has faithfully lead us over the years. Although methods may change the message remains the same and the vision and ministries that we feel God has called us to are dear to the heart of the workers.

Evangelism

As you can read in our history the Faith Mission was started to evangelize rural areas. This is still our vision today.

“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” Mark 16:15

Verses like this one fuel our desire to share the gospel in the rural settings. We respect and pray for the witness of churches in urban settings, but are burdened to go to the outlying areas to share the gospel there. Most of the time we work along side smaller churches, engaging in all kinds of evangelism. This can mean running a Daily Vacation Bible School, weekly children’s clubs, summer camps, preaching a series of evangelistic messages, personal visiting, Bible Studies like Christianity Explored. We also live in the areas we work in so that people can watch our faith being lived out. In a country like Canada, there are vast expanses of rural land with small communities scattered along the way. The fields truly are ripe for harvest. Many of these isolated communities have no local churches and a lot of new church plants focus on the urban areas. The rural areas of Canada are a mission field right here in our own country.

Prayer

Again, related to our history, we have seen the importance of prayer. We have seen lives changed, Strongholds pulled down and communities changed by prayer. The fruit that God has blessed our evangelism with has been directly linked to people praying. Some Bible verses that teach this include,

Acts 12:5 “So Peter was kept in prison, but earnest prayer for him was made to God by the church.”

Luke 11:7-10 “he will answer from within, ‘Do not bother me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed. I cannot get up and give you anything’? I tell you, though he will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his impudence he will rise and give him whatever he needs. And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.”

More than just intercessory prayer we have seen what a treasure prayer can become when a believer comes to realize in a deeper way what a privilege to spend time with their heavenly Father in prayer. Currently in Canada we see a tremendous need for the church to be called back to prayer. Not that we would say that prayer has completely been forgotten, rather that it not valued in the way that it should be. From scripture it seems that Christians are to be  a people who are marked by prayer, and that prayer is to be the backbone of the churches ministry. It seems that for many churches they put confidence in a number of different things but prayer as a way of putting our confidence in God has been overlooked. Oh that God would bring us back to a deep realization of what we loose when prayer is forced to the fringes of our church and personal life. The prayer ministries that we are involved in include, Thirsting for God conferences and retreats were prayer is one of the key subjects. Early morning prayer and accountability groups. Prayer Unions.

Revival

Through the history of Faith Mission we have been privileged to be part of a number of localized revivals. Periods when the usual business and activity of communities was halted because God was at work in the midst of communities. Christians where revived in their love for God and their desire for holy living, the unsaved awakened to their need of Christ as Saviour. The impacted communities stand as a testimony of God working through these revivals. People, communities and churches that were considered too hard for God were impacted. This was not because of an evangelism strategy, rather God was dealing with people. Again as we survey the country of Canada we see the need for revival. God’s people need to be filled again with awe over their Saviour, and there are many unconverted people that need Christ as Saviour.

2 Chronicles 7:14 “if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

Revival cannot be orchestrated by man, however we are to pray and seek God for revival. To that end Workers of the Faith Mission teach on revival and prayer is offered for revival.

Well there are other things that are part of our vision and ministries, but it’s hard to cover them here. Best thing to do is to contact us for more details. We would love to share with you. In all the ministries that we are involved in we are privileged to work with God’s people. It is our pleasure to serve along side many local churches and to build up and edify the believers through our ministry. We are so blessed.
